Joe Rafferty, PharmD

Pharmacist-in-charge


A native of La Vergne, Tennessee, Joe attended Auburn University where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Harrison School of Pharmacy in 2008.  Joe went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Upon residency graduation, Joe continued at Mission Hospital as a clinical pharmacist specializing in cardiology, but also provided support for several other service lines, including Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, and the Emergency Department. Joe has a passion for teaching and served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor for the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and was the Acute Care Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator during his time at Mission.

Joe’s wife Aubrie is also a pharmacist, and they have 2 children (Avery and Rhodes). The family makes their home in Asheville. Joe enjoys all the offerings of the beautiful surroundings in Western North Carolina, traveling, cooking, music, and spending time with family and friends.
